-------------------------------
Planetary architecture is a complicated business. What with mountains,
ravines, valleys and lakes, creating a whole new world can be a tiring
task indeed. If you're a would-be Égod Éor goddess and you're starting
to find this creation lark is taking it out of you then let your Amiga
do the job for you.
Scenery Éis Éa Éprogram ÉÉthat ÉÉuses Ésome Évery Écomplicated
mathematics to create some very Éinteresting results. The program uses
Fractal graphic techniques as used by super computers such as the Cray
to create random landscapes Éof Éalmost Éunbelievable realism. Fractal
techniques are used extensively Éwithin Éthe Éfilm Éindustry to create
graphics for sci-fi films such as Star Trek. If you've seen any of the
more recent sci-fi films, Échances Éare Éthat Éthe asteroids and other
planetary objects within these films were Écreated on a super computer
using fractal graphic techniques.
The landscape generation takes a Éseed Évalue which can either
be randomly generated or chosen by the user. Other options include the
ability to increase the height Éof Éthe É'camera' from zero right upto
8000 feet. The water level and Éthe Éheight of mountains and hills can
also be selected from the pull down menus.
LandScape generation is reasonably fast Éwhen you consider the
Earth took millions of years Éto Éget Éto its current state! Seriously
though, the generation time of a Élandscape Éis actually very fast and
can take as little as five minutes Éfor Éa scene to be rendered due to
efficient programming in pure É68000 Éassembler. ÉOnce a landscape has
been created, selecting Save Screen Éfrom Éthe Éproject menu will save
the screen in IFF format. Once saved, Éthese Écan now be loaded into a
paint package such as Deluxe Paint or Aegis Images.
You can load LandScape either Éby Éselecting it from our cover
disk menu program, Click_Me or Éby Éalternatively clicking on its icon
on the Workbench.
